It was a busy week of chain saw carving in Cape Breton. These four carvers (Liam Tromans – Chemanus, BC; Joel Palmer – Browns Flat, NB; Tracie Dugas – Clare, NS and Marc Timmons – Port Hawkesbury, NS) were very excited to have had the opportunity to carve at the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Champions Trophy event in Sydney, NS. Then they proceeded to an event at the Dundee Resort and Golf Club titled “Carve Cape Breton” for another two days showcasing their individual unique talents.
This was the second consecutive year that Dundee Resort has hosted these carvers. We are proud to say that the event was very well received and extremely successful. This event is not a competition, but an event that we hope will grow into an opportunity for carvers to gather in a fun relaxed setting that enables each of them to show their sculptures, share their skill with each other and grow the art of chain saw carving through public interaction.
We would like to thank STIHL Canada for their support and the many contributions to our event. We distributed STIHL giveaways to spectators throughout the two days, with a special emphasis to the younger group.
